INTRASPECIFIC VARIABILITY OF TRYPSIN INHIBITORY ACTIVITY IN SOME REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GENUS HEDYSARUM L. (FABACEAE L.)

Trypsin inhibitory activity (TIA) was studied in leaves of 4 Hedysarum L. species ( Fabaceae L.). Promising populations with the least TIA were determined. The highest average value of TIA (28.8 mg/g of dry weight) and high amplitude of intrapopulational variability were typical of natural populations of the polymorphic species H. gmelinii Le-deb. The least range of intraspecific variability of TIA was found in the endemic H. austrosi-biricum B. Fedtsch.

Forms of low activity were revealed due to assessment of individual variability of TIA in Н. gmelinii leaves.
